Cass Soccer Team Takes Home Tournament Championship After 13-0 Season

DARIEN, IL – The Cass Warriors boys soccer team and coach Megan Newton brought home the SDEAA Conference tournament championship recently.

The Warriors finished undefeated with a 13-0 record.

According to a school news release, the students played so well as a team, fought hard, and always exercised discipline while demonstrating great sportsmanship throughout the season.

After winning two hard-fought battles in the SDEAA Conference quarter and semifinals, coach Newton and the boys brought home the tournament championship in a hard-fought, overtime thriller against a much larger O'Neill Middle School with a score of 2-1.

"The boys played every game with pride and great effort," Newton said in the news release.
