Through a public records request, Patch obtained the police report.

The suspect was identified as Mark Flores, 30, of Westmont.

About 1 a.m. on the Fourth of July, a Darien officer saw a man speeding on Cass Avenue near Plainfield Road, clocked at 58 mph in a 35 mph zone, the report said.

The officer said he immediately turned on his emergency lights and sirens, but he lost sight of Flores' car.

The officer deactivated his emergency equipment and started searching for the 2019 Honda Accord.

Soon after, the officer saw that the car had crashed into the house at 9S115 Nantucket Drive, police said.

The officer confirmed no one was inside the house.

Flores told the officer that he saw the emergency lights, became scared and decided to flee instead of stopping, resulting in the crash, police said.

The officer reported that Flores smelled of alcohol and had bloodshot, glassy eyes.

Flores said he had been at a party at his brother's house in Darien. When they ran out of alcohol, Flores said he went on a run to a Woodridge liquor store to buy more, police said.

Flores admitted to having two cups of Jack Daniel's and Coke, according to the report.

Police charged Flores with felony aggravated DUI, fleeing from an officer and speeding.

A breath test reading showed Flores' blood-alcohol level was .10, police said.
