DARIEN, IL – A Darien-area man faces drug-dealing and gun charges after he was arrested at his home Tuesday, authorities said.
George Haddad, 59, was charged with four felony counts of delivery of drugs and one count of misdemeanor possession of a gun with no serial number, police said.
He lives on Redondo Drive in an unincorporated area next to Darien, a few blocks from the Darien police station.
Haddad was an alleged source of cocaine in the area, according to a news release from county prosecutors.
On July 2, officers from the DuPage County Metropolitan Enforcement Group bought an ounce of cocaine for $1,400 from Haddad, police said.
On Tuesday, they paid $6,200 for 4.5 ounces, police said.
Later the same day, authorities executed a search warrant at Haddad's home. They found three ounces of cocaine in separate baggies, 27 amphetamine pills, $26,422 in cash and 14 guns, one with no serial number on it, police said.
Haddad was released with electronic GPS monitoring and the condition that he possess no guns.
