Attempted Burglary, Reckless Driving: Darien Police Blotter

Burglary from Motor Vehicle
An officer on patrol eastbound 67th Street west of Route 83 on July 4 observed a purse in the roadway. The officer made contact with the owner of the purse located in the 100 block of Iris Road. The victim stated sometime between July 3 at 8 p.m. and July 4 at 4:30 a.m. unknown offender(s) entered their unlocked vehicles parked on the driveway. The victim stated items recovered were the only items stolen.

At 10:46 a.m. on July 4 an officer was dispatched to the 200 block of 67th Street for a delayed
burglary to motor vehicle. The victim advised sometime between July 3 at 10:30 p.m. and July 4 at 5:30 a.m. an unknown offender(s) entered an unlocked vehicle parked on the driveway. The victim advised nothing appears to be missing.
At 1:15 p.m. on July 6 an officer was dispatched to the 7000 block of Beechnut Lane for a burglary to motor vehicle. The victim advised sometime between July 5 at 10:30 a.m. and July 6 at 11:30 a.m. unknown offender(s) entered an unlocked vehicle parked on the driveway. The victim advised nothing was missing no other information at this time.

Reckless Driving
At 7:28 p.m. on July 4 officers were dispatched to an accident with unknown injuries at 71st Street
and Bentley Avenue. Juan Ipina, 28, of Park Forest was arrested for reckless driving, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and damage to city property.
Warrant
At 6:19 p.m. on July 6 an officer on patrol observed a vehicle in the 8200 block of Lemont Road
with an expired registration sticker. Juan Perez-Pelaez, 35, of Lemont was arrested for a failure to appear warrant for speeding out of Joliet, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and driving with expired plates.
Attempted Burglary
At 9:33 a.m. on July 7 an officer was dispatched to the 7900 block of Stewart Drive for an attempted burglary. The homeowner advised sometime between July 5 at 8 a.m. and July 7 at 9:33 a.m. unknown offender(s) attempted to pry open a patio door, however no entry was
made and nothing was missing.
