Ban Lifted for Door-to-Door Solicitors

Solicitors must be licensed with the City of Darien.

A ban on door-to-door solicitation will expire June 1.

The City of Darien had previously instituted the temporary ban because of home burglaries that took place in the fall, but municipalities can’t permanently ban home solicitors, according to the city.

Solicitors must be licensed with the City of Darien.

Applications are available on the city website or at City Hall, 1702 Plainfield Road.

Darien provides free “no solicitor” stickers to residents, available at City Hall. If a solicitor does not have a City of Darien solicitor ID card, or if they knock when you have a no solicitor sign, residents are advised to call 9-1-1.
