Battery, Retail Theft, Car Burglary: Darien Police Blotter

The latest Darien police reports include a retail theft arrest made at Walmart.

The following information is from the Darien Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

Battery

At 10:27 p.m. on Feb. 22 an officer was dispatched to Bailey and Plainfield roads for a battery that
just occurred. An Uber driver responded to a call in the 1500 block of Darien Lake Drive. The
customer became argumentative once inside the vehicle and was asked to exit. The male
white offender spit in the drivers face before exiting.

Attempted Burglary From Motor Vehicle

At 1:20 p.m. on Feb. 24 an officer was flagged down by a citizen who wanted to report an attempted
burglary to motor vehicle. Residence video shows a male black offender being dropped
off in the 1900 block of 72nd Street. Offender attempted to gain entry to the locked vehicle
parked in the driveway. Nothing appeared missing.

Retail Theft

At 12:04 a.m. on Feb. 25 an officer was dispatched to Walmart, 2189 75th St. for a retail theft in
progress. Noah Budd, 23, of Naperville was arrested for retail theft.

Burglary From Motor Vehicle

At 8:07 a.m. on Feb. 25 an officer was dispatched to the 1900 block of 71st Street for a burglary from motor vehicle. The owner stated sometime between Feb. 23 at 1 p.m. and Feb.
24 at 6 p.m. video footage shows two unknown offenders entering the vehicle. The
approximate loss was $3 in change.
