Beer Bottle Lit On Fire, Tree Damaged: Darien Police Reports

The following items were taken from the Darien police blotter throughout the past week. Arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Sept. 6

• A purse and cell phone were taken from a shopping cart at Home Depot, 2101 75th St., sometime between 4 and 4:45 p.m. The approximate loss is $175.

Sept. 8

• A beer bottle was left on fire in the baseball field at Park Avenue and Shelly Court at 7:06 p.m. Darien Woodridge Fire Department responded and fire was extinguished. The grass had minor damage.

Sept. 11

• A resident observed a damaged trunk on a parkway tree at 7:15 p.m. in the 1500 block of Shelly Court. It is unknown who did the damage.
• Two streaming devices were stolen at 4:48 p.m. at Walmart, 2189 75th St. The offender proceeded to self-checkout lanes but items were not scanned. Security attempted to stop offender in the lot but they drove away. The total loss was $98.
