Bidding Begins For Darien's Battle Of The Adirondack Chairs
Proceeds from the chair with the highest bid will be donated back to that school's art department.

DARIEN, IL — This year, the Battle of the Adirondack Chair at DarienFest will be sponsored by the Darien Woman in Business and Rotary Club of Darien. According to a release, 10 local Darien Schools have designed Adirondack chairs for the Battle of the Adirondack Chairs.
The battle will be held at the 30th annual DarienFest, Sept. 8-10. According to the release, the chairs will be on display through Sept. 7 at Darien City Hall and then will move to DarienFest in the Adirondack Chair Tent.
According to the release, students and art teachers from the following schools each hand-painted an Adirondack chair to be auctioned off: Concord, Elizabeth Ide, Prairieview, Mark Delay, Lace, Cass Jr. High, Lakeview Jr. High, Eisenhower Jr. High, Hinsdale South and Downers Grove South.

Bidding for the chairs will close at 4 p.m. on Sept. 10. According to the release, proceeds from the chair with the highest bid will be donated back to that school’s art department. The Peoples Choice Award will also award $100 to the school art department for the chair that receives the most votes at DarienFest.
All other proceeds will benefit Paint the Town Pink and provide meals to local residents undergoing cancer treatment in the surrounding Darien area. Bids can be placed by following this link: https://www.charityauctionstoday.com/auctions/paint-the-town-pink-battle-of-the-adirondack-chairs-2627
