Car Break-Ins Reported In Darien Neighborhood

In one case, a black Nike backpack was stolen from a car, police said. It was later found.

DARIEN, IL – Three cars were burglarized overnight early Friday morning in a Darien neighborhood, police said.

About 4:30 a.m., someone entered a car in the 8500 block of Highcrest Drive and stole a black Nike backpack, police said. The backpack was later found in the 3100 block of Beller Drive, which is close by.

The same morning, a man was seen with another person lifting a handle on a car parked in a driveway in the 8500 block of Harvest Lane, which is a block over from Highcrest, police said. The owner found a set of keys in the street.

About 6 a.m., a car parked in a driveway in the 3200 block of Ailsworth Court was found with an open glovebox and its contents elsewhere in the car, police said. Nothing appeared to be missing. Ailsworth is about three blocks away from the other burglaries.
