DARIEN, IL — UPDATE: The intersection of Hinswood and N. Frontage Rd. is now open following a long day of repairs after a car struck a pole early Saturday morning. Hinswood will remain closed east of Frontage until approximately 12 a.m. Sunday as crews continue repairs, according to a Twitter post from Darien Police.

Roads are still closed after a car slammed into a pole in Darien late Friday night, causing a "large power outage" in the surrounding area. The crash took place near the intersection of Cass and Hinswood, according to a Twitter post by Darien Police.

The accident caused several road closures and delays in early morning traffic. Police said the intersection of Hinswood and N. Frontage would remain closed until Saturday afternoon.
Police and fire crews arrived on the scene, followed by crew members from ComEd who worked to repair the power outage. Power was restored approximately two hours after the crash.

According to Darien Police, there were no injuries from the accident.
