Center Cass School Board Honored By Group
The board practices effective governance behaviors, a statewide association says.

DARIEN, IL – The Center Cass School District 66 board was one of 45 statewide that recently receiving the 2023 School Board Governance Recognition designation.
The state has 852 districts.
The Illinois Association of School Boards' recognition program acknowledges school boards that learn and practice effective governance behaviors, according to its website.

Effective school boards, the website says, understand that excellence in local school board governance requires full board commitment to obtaining the knowledge, skills and abilities critical to good governance.
Members of the previous Center Cass board received the recognition. They were Chris Esposito, Donna Sobotka, Brian Liedtke, Lori Hoffman, Liane Raso, Joan Cullen and Beth Bukey.

Bukey, Cullen and Hoffman are former board members. The last election was in April, with the award's recognition for the period before that.
