Christmas Cantata...The Promise Fulfilled

The Cantata Choir of St. John Lutheran Church located at 7214 South Cass Avenue in Darien, IL will perform a Christmas Cantata to the glory of God during worship services on Saturday, December 6 at 5:00 p.m. and on Sunday, December 7 at 9:00 a.m.

An annual event, this year’s program is entitled “The Promise Fulfilled.” Once again the Lani Smith and Rev. William Privette team has come up with a winning Christmas cantata that is sure to thrill. The joyous new work offers an opportunity to contemplate, through original music, familiar carols, and insightful narration, the connection between the Old Testament prophecies and the actual events of Jesus’ birth.

Everyone in the community is invited to attend this and other seasonal services. Midweek Advent Services will be held on Wednesdays, December 3, 10, 17 at 11:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. The Children’s Christmas Program will be on Sunday, December 14 at 9:00 a.m. Christmas Eve Communion Candlelight Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 24. On Christmas Day, Thursday, December 25, there will be a 9:00 a.m. Communion Service. There will also be a New Year’s Eve Communion Service at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 31.
