The fourth grade students at Concord Elementary School learned all about various energy sources and more specifically, wind energy, through a special in-house field trip presented by All about Learning. This special field trip, which supports the study of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math), explored the various types of renewable and non-renewable energy sources. In addition, wind power and its use throughout history were reviewed with students. After discovering the many facets of wind energy, the students were each given their own vertical axis wind turbine models to put together. This was definitely a highlight of the in-house field trip as the students were able to put their knowledge to work! This field trip was partially funded through the generosity of the Cass School District PTC.
