Craigslist Sales Get a Little Safer Under the Eye of Clarendon Hills Police

“Craigslist killers” beware. Clarendon Hills police have designated the police station lobby and parking lot as safe zones for online transactions.

Police say these are the safest spots for money to change hands in a one-on-one transaction.

The station lobby at 448 Park Ave., Clarendon Hills, is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., according to the village website. After hours, the station’s front parking lot offers a police presence, surveillance cameras, good lighting and an emergency phone.

Staff will not get involved in transactions, but they can quickly respond to any situation requiring police intervention.
