Darien BB Gun Suspect Found: Police

Local man used BB gun to damage windows, sign and car, report says.

DARIEN, IL — Darien police responded to a call about a person firing a BB gun early Thursday night. The pellets dented a stop sign, shattered windows of a house in the 3300 block of Gilbert Court and dented a car in the 8400 block of Beller Drive, police said.

The suspect was identified as a 20-year-old man from the 8400 block of Beller Drive, who agreed to pay for the damage by the BB gun, police said. The police report didn't indicate that the man was arrested, so Darien Patch is withholding his name.

  • A car parked in a driveway was burglarized between 7 to 8 a.m. March 24 in the 800 block of Walnut Drive. Tools were removed. The loss was estimated at $2,450.
  • A burglary of a locked room happened between 5 to 5:40 p.m. March 27 at Extended Stay America, 2345 Sokol Court. Miscellaneous items were removed.
  • An unlocked car parked in a driveway was burglarized between 9 a.m. March 26 and 10:30 a.m. March 30 in the 1600 block of 71st Street. A garage door opener was taken.
  • Police responded about 1:30 p.m. to CVS, 8325 Lemont Road, for a retail theft. A manager reported a man took an air purifier and left the store without making payment. The suspect was seen leaving in a dark Volkswagen hatchback. The loss was estimated at $130.
  • An unlocked car parked in a driveway was burglarized between 1:30 p.m. March 25 and 12:30 p.m. March 28 in the 1600 block of 71st Street. The loss was estimated at $330.
  • Andre Armstrong-Bryan, 29, of Willowbrook, was arrested about 6 p.m. March 28 in the area of Cass Avenue on charges of driving with a suspended license and operating windshield wipers without headlights. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • Witnesses saw the driver of a silver car speeding around the neighborhood and then heard a crashing sound about 6 p.m. March 28. Damage was reported to the parkway and lamp post. The car was last seen heading north toward 67th Street.
  • Police responded about 2:30 p.m. March 29 to Jewel, 7335 Cass Ave., for a retail theft. A man and woman wearing masks walked past the last register without paying, leaving the store with bottles of liquor in a plastic bag.
