Darien Cemetery Tour Offers Local History

DARIEN, IL — The Darien Historical Society and St. John's Lutheran Church will co-sponsor a tour of the church's cemetery on Sept. 15. The cemetery is located at Clarendon Hills Road and 67th Street in Darien.

Come out from 1 to 3 p.m. and learn about area residents from past generations. According to the church website, the tours will include docents giving first person narratives in period dress. The cemetery was established in 1859 and is located next to original prairie land. The tour will include displays, a Civil War re-enactment and a bake sale.
