DARIEN, IL – A Darien police officer earlier this week was alerted to a car that was suspected of being used in several retail thefts in different towns, authorities said.

About 1 p.m. Monday, the officer stopped the driver near Bailey and Plainfield roads. The driver, a 26-year-old Chicago man, was charged, but not with retail theft.

Instead, the man was charged with driving with a suspended license, driving an uninsured car and marijuana possession. He was given a court date and released.
