Darien Coronavirus Case Growth Stabilizes
DuPage County's has higher rate of growth in virus cases.
DARIEN, IL — Darien saw 13 more cases of the coronavirus in the last week, according to Sunday's figures from the DuPage County Health Department. The previous week, Darien had seen 11 more cases.

Darien's increase last week, which amounted to 14 percent, was lower than DuPage County's 20 percent. Darien makes up 2.3 percent of the county's population and 1.5 percent of the coronavirus cases.

As of Sunday, Darien had 4.9 coronavirus cases per thousand people. That compares to 2.9 in Western Springs, 4.5 in Clarendon Hills, 4.6 in Elmhurst, 5.3 in La Grange Park, 6.5 in Burr Ridge, 7.7 in DuPage County, 10 in Hinsdale and 10.5 in La Grange.
In DuPage County, Addison is leading the pack with 667 cases, or 18.3 per thousand, according to the health department. West Chicago follows with 652 cases, or 24.3 per thousand.

As of Sunday, Illinois' coronavirus case count increased to 110,304, up 17 percent from a week earlier. The coronavirus has claimed the lives of 4,856 state residents. Health departments do not provide the number of deaths by municipality.
Nationally, 1.7 million people have caught the virus, and 98,035 have died from it.
