Darien Electricity Reverting Back To ComEd

ComEd is currently sending out letters to residents regarding the reversion back to ComEd.

DARIEN, IL — The Darien Municipal Electricity Aggregation program will end in September, and ComEd is currently sending out letters to residents regarding the reversion back to ComEd. According to the city newsletter, Darien has managed an Electricity Aggregation program since 2012, which allowed them to negotiate lower electric rates than ComEd offered.

According to the city, it recently sought bids to renew the Municipal Electricity Aggregation Program, which expires in September. However, Darien did not receive any bids that were lower than the ComEd base rate. According to the newsletter, since savings couldn't be guaranteed, Darien is in the process of suspending the program.

All resident and small business accounts currently in the program will automatically be returned to ComEd following meter readings in September. No action is needed on your part to revert back to ComEd.
