Darien Fight Draws Cops To Neighborhood, Woman Arrested

DARIEN, IL – In the last few days, Darien police handled cases involving domestic battery, a hit-and-run crash, retail theft and DUI. Here is information from the latest Darien police reports:

Domestic battery

• About 1 p.m. Friday, police responded to a fight in progress in the 2200 block of Hamilton Avenue. They arrested a 23-year-old Oakbrook Terrace woman on a domestic battery charge. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
• A 25-year-old Darien man who lives in the 1900 block of Gigi Lane was arrested on a domestic battery warrant about 4:30 p.m. Friday at his house. The warrant was issued five days earlier. The man was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Hit-and-run

• Police responded to a hit-and-run crash about 9 a.m. Monday in the 8200 block of Chapman Court. A Chicago man was cited on charges of driving with a suspended license, driving too fast for conditions and failing to give information to an owner after striking property. The man had a theft warrant in Naperville. He was given a court date and then released.

Retail theft

• A 27-year-old Westmont woman was arrested about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Walmart, 2189 75th St., on a retail theft charge. Police said the woman cut items' tags, placed the items in a cart and then stole them. She was given a court date and then released.

DUI

• A 46-year-old Homer Glen man was arrested about 5 p.m. Saturday on a Will County warrant for failing to appear in court for a DUI case. Police responded to an unrelated call in the 2300 block of Sokol Court, which is when they encountered the man.
