“Last holiday season, the Darien Lions Club, with the help of the Darien Park District and other Darien community organizations and individuals, distributed about a weeks’ worth of food (and gifts for each child) to almost 200 needy families in our area,” according to the release.
The foundation “is a stand-alone endowment fund that can receive monetary donations on a tax-exempt basis.” Donations are used only for programs serving people in the Darien area.
