Darien Man Accused Of DUI: Cops

Police also charged five people with retail theft at Walmart.

DARIEN, IL – Darien police released their latest blotter Thursday. Here is information from the reports:

DUI

  • Joseph Pikul, 31, of Darien, was arrested about 11:30 p.m. March 16 on charges of DUI, driving on the wrong side of the road, improper lane usage and speeding. According to police, he was speeding 58 mph in a 40 mph zone. He was seen speeding on Plainfield Road. An officer stopped Pikul on Boulder Drive, where the driver lives. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • Davida Wilson, 38, of Chicago, was arrested about 2 a.m. Sunday on Cass Avenue near Plainfield Road on charges of DUI, speeding and failure to signal. According to police, she was speeding 56 mph in a 40 mph zone. She was released on bond and given a date to appear in court.

Revoked license

  • Charles Donahue, 41, of Lockport, was arrested about 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the 2300 block of Oakmont Way on a felony charge of driving with a revoked license (15 or more violations). He was also cited on charges of improper lane usage, improper lighting and driving an uninsured vehicle. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail for a bond hearing.

Retail theft

  • Johnny O'Neal, 48, of Chicago, was cited about 1 a.m. Sunday at Walmart, 2189 75th St., on a charge of felony retail theft. On the way to Walmart, an officer saw a driver, later identified as O'Neal, who matched the description of the store's suspect.
  • Edmond Brand, 35, of Willowbrook, was cited about 4 p.m. Sunday at Walmart, 2189 75th St., on a charge of retail theft. A store employee told police that Brand was scanning a price tag from lower-priced food items in the self-checkout, even though he was buying clothing. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • Luis Alvarez Carrillo, 27, and Jaime Carrillo, 23, both of Aurora, were arrested about 9:30 p.m. Sunday at Walmart, 2189 75th St., on charges of retail theft. The store told police that the men put smaller items in a larger item and only scanned one item. They were released and given a date to appear in court.
  • Joshua Mendoza, 27, of Clarendon Hills, was cited about 10:30 p.m. Sunday at Walmart, 2189 75th St., on a charge of retail theft. A review of his receipt showed that not all his items were scanned in the self-checkout lane. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
