Darien Man Arrested On Theft Warrant

Two other local men were arrested on warrants from other jurisdictions, police said.

DARIEN, IL – Darien police released their latest blotter Wednesday. Here is information from the reports:

Theft

  • A 40-year-old Darien man who lives in the 8400 block of Mystic Trace was arrested Friday on a charge of theft. Chicago Heights police told Darien police that they had the man in custody, noting he was wanted on a Darien warrant. The man was released and given a date to appear in court.

DUI

  • A 38-year-old Chicago man was arrested shortly before midnight Feb. 21 on charges of DUI, driving a car with a suspended registration, improper lane usage and driving an uninsured car. An officer saw the man's car crossing over the left lane boundary and almost striking the center raised median on 75th Street near Fairview Avenue. He was released and given a date to appear in court.

Warrants

  • A 21-year-old Darien man who lives in the 1100 block of 75th Street was arrested about 8 p.m. Sunday on a Will County warrant charging failure to appear in court. In the 7400 block of Cass Avenue, an officer saw that the man's car had an expired license plate and no license plate lights. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • About 5 p.m. Feb. 21, police were called to the 800 block of Albany Lane to determine whether a 44-year-old Darien man was present. He was. The man was wanted on a warrant from Hoffman Estates. He was released to Hoffman Estates police.

Retail theft

  • A 39-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 4 p.m. Friday at Walmart, 2189 75th St., on a charge of retail theft. Police said the man was not ringing up merchandise at the self-checkout counter. Surveillance video shows the man paying for a lime, but not for cases of Red Bull. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
