Darien Man Called 'Absolute Menace' Visits Police Station

DARIEN, IL – A Darien man who has been referred to as an "absolute menace" in a local neighborhood visited the police station last week, authorities said.

It apparently didn't go well.

Shortly before 5 p.m. Thursday, the 56-year-old man, who was listed as living in the 900 block of 69th Street, swore and yelled during a disturbance at the station, police said. The man then left.

Less than an hour later, he returned. Then he was arrested on a disorderly conduct charge, police said. He was released and given a date to appear in court.

At a Darien City Council meeting earlier this month, a few residents complained that the 56-year-old had caused many disturbances in the 900 block of 69th Street. In late June, the man started living with his elderly father on the block, neighbors said.

Over four days in late July, the man was charged twice with disorderly conduct after he played loud music late into the night, police said.

Neighbors said the man frequently bothers them. One called the man an "absolute menace."
