Darien Man Charged With Domestic Violence: Police

Resident is taken to the DuPage County Jail.

DARIEN, IL — The Darien Police Department released its latest blotter Tuesday. Here is information from the reports:

  • Nicholas Reed, 34, of Darien, was arrested shortly before 10 a.m. Saturday in the 3200 block of Pitcher Drive on a charge of domestic battery. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
  • Police received a call about 7 a.m. Sunday in the 1800 block of 71st Street about a purse and a wallet found in the parkway. The owner of the items lives in the 1700 block of 71st Street. A car parked in the driveway had a door ajar. The victim said someone removed the property from the car overnight Saturday. The loss was estimated at $320.
  • Someone broke a window of a car and stole a backpack and a wallet about 7 p.m. Nov. 9 at Walgreens, 7516 Cass Ave. The loss was estimated at $100.
  • An officer stopped a car speeding shortly before 1 a.m. Nov. 9 in the 7900 block of Lemont Road. A pistol and ammunition in a case were recovered during the stop. Amairani Estrada Hernandez, 26, of Bolingbrook, was cited on a charge of speeding and released. Sydney Manning, 24, of Lisle, was arrested on a charge of unlawful use of a weapon. Manning was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • Kendall Wilson, 31, of Downers Grove, was arrested about 1:30 a.m. Nov. 9 on a charge of DUI. According to a police report, an officer saw Wilson sleeping behind the wheel and in possession of a half empty bottle of alcohol. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • A garage window was shattered Nov. 10 in the 1200 block Darien Club Drive.
  • Sonia Mendoza, 23, of East Chicago, Ind., was cited about 1:30 a.m. Nov. 11 on charges of no valid driver's license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and improper display of license plates. She was released and given a date to appear in court.
