Darien Man Charged With Felony Retail Theft

Police said he stole 50 items at the self-checkout aisle, totaling nearly $500.

DARIEN, IL – Three Darien residents were arrested on retail theft charges in the last few days. Here is information from the reports:

  • Marco Hoppe Navarro Jr., 45, who lives in the 1100 block of 75th Street in Darien, was arrested about 5:30 p.m. Saturday at Walmart, 2189 75th St., on a charge of felony retail theft. Police said he did not pay for 50 items totaling $492 while using the self-checkout aisle. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
  • A 24-year-old woman and a 28-year-old man, who both live in the 1100 block of 75th Street in Darien, were arrested about 5:30 p.m. Friday at Walmart, 2189 75th St., on misdemeanor charges of retail theft. Police said the pair did not pay for 26 items totaling $226 while using the self-checkout aisle.
