Darien Man Charged In Hit-And-Run: Cops

In another case, a local man was arrested on a DUI charge after being stopped for speeding, police said.

DARIEN, IL – Darien police released their latest blotter Thursday. Here is information from the reports:

Hit-and-run

  • A hit-and-run crash occurred about 8 p.m. May 23 near 75th Street and Plainfield Road. A man told police his car was rear-ended and that he took a photo of the offending driver. A 41-year-old Darien man who lives in the 2100 block of Cottage Lane was charged with leaving the scene of a crash and failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident. He was released and given a date to appear in court.

DUI

  • A 26-year-old Darien man who lives in the 2200 block of Shannon Court was arrested May 23 on North Frontage Road on charges of DUI, improper lane usage and speeding. Police said he was speeding 57 mph in a 40 mph zone in the 8100 block of Cass Avenue. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • A 64-year-old Lyons man was arrested about 3 a.m. Saturday on charges of DUI, improper lane usage, driving with an expired registration and disobeying a traffic control device. Police said the man swerved several times. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • A 36-year-old Woodridge woman was arrested about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday near Lemont Road and 83rd Street on charges of DUI, speeding, disobeying a traffic control signal and improper lane usage. Police said she was speeding 52 mph in a 30 mph zone. She was released and given a date to appear in court.
