Darien Man Faces Domestic Battery Charge: Cops
In another case, a man arrested on a DUI charge backs into a squad car, police said.

DARIEN, IL – Darien police released their latest blotter Thursday. Here is information from the reports:
Domestic battery
- Winslow Purham, 36, of Darien, was arrested about 12:30 a.m. Sunday in the 1500 block of Lakeview Drive on a charge of domestic battery. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
DUI

- Ryan Highland, 37, of Plainfield, was arrested about 11:30 p.m. Sunday on Lemont Road at 83rd Street on charges of DUI and improper stopping on the roadway. According to a police report, Highland, who appeared to be sleeping, awoke and backed into a squad car. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
Car burglary
- A car in the Jewel parking lot, 7329 Cass Ave., was burglarized between 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Aug. 29. Unspecified items valued at $160 were stolen.
Driving violations

- Rodney Mitchell, 56, of Willowbrook, was cited about 4:30 p.m. Aug. 29 at Sheridan and Clarendon Hills roads on charges of driving with a revoked license and driving while using a phone. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
