Darien Man Jailed In Uber Incident: Police

He was also wanted on a warrant charging DUI, authorities said.

DARIEN, IL – A Darien man was arrested on New Year's Day after he refused to pay an Uber driver, local police said.

The 25-year-old man, who lives in the 7700 block of Lester Lane, was charged with theft of services and a peace bond violation. He was also wanted on a Cook County warrant charging DUI.

The incident occurred shortly before 6 a.m. near Adams Street and Plainfield Road, about a block from where the man lives, police said.

As the officer approached the Uber driver's car, the 25-year-old man got out. The driver told the officer that the man refused to pay, police said.

The 25-year-old was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
