Darien Man Rams Car In Drive-Thru, Charged With DUI: Cops

In another case, a victim saw a suspect steal tools and drive away, police said.

DARIEN, IL – Darien police released their latest blotter Wednesday. Here is information from the latest reports:

DUI

  • A 54-year-old Darien resident who lives in the 7500 block of Grant Street was arrested about 1 a.m. Tuesday on a DUI charge. Police were called about the man ramming the rear end of another customer's car in the drive-thru at Taco Bell, 7419 Cass Ave. The man was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • A 23-year-old Westmont man was arrested about 1 a.m. Sunday on charges of DUI, no valid driver's license and improper lane usage. An officer saw the man swerving in the 7500 block of Cass Avenue. He was released and given a date to appear in court.

Theft

  • A car in the 900 block of Plainfield Road was burglarized about 2:30 p.m. April 24. The suspect was a man in his mid to late 20s with a black head covering. He was driving a Nissan, last seen heading east on Plainfield. The victim saw the suspect carrying three of the victim's power tools before entering the Nissan. The tools were valued at $200.

Retail theft

  • A 33-year-old Willowbrook man was arrested about 4 p.m. April 22 on a charge of retail theft. He was accused of stealing an online order from the shelves of Jimmy John's, 2445 75th St. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
