Darien Man Unlawfully Hid Guns In Back Of Pickup Truck: Cops

Police arrested Jorge Tito, 43, when they found the guns after a domestic dispute.

DARIEN, IL — Police arrested a Darien man after a domestic dispute that led them to find hidden guns he had possession of illegally. Jorge Tito, 43, of the 1900 block of Rosewood Ct., was charged with two felony counts of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and two misdemeanor counts of domestic battery, police say.

Commander Gerry Piccoli told Patch that police were responding to a domestic dispute at the above address just before 3 a.m. on Dec. 30. During police interviews, Tito's wife told them she believed her husband had a criminal record in another state and was not authorized to own guns. She said Tito had "removed the guns from the house and tried to hide them in his car."

After obtaining a warrant, police found two pistols in the back of Tito's truck. Piccoli said Tito did not possess an FOIA card, which lead to the unlawful use of a weapon charges. Police did not confirm or deny that he was a convicted felon elsewhere.
