Darien Man, Woman Face Domestic Battery Charges: Cops
In the last few days, Darien officers arrested three people, including a Willowbrook resident, on DUI charges.

DARIEN, IL – Darien police released their latest blotter Thursday. Here is information from the reports:
Domestic battery
- Jordan Barreto and Lillian Sturges, both 20-year-old Darien residents, were arrested about 6:30 a.m. June 28 in the 1400 block of Lakeview Drive on charges of domestic battery. They were taken to the DuPage County Jail.

- Cesar A. Velarde, 53, of Willowbrook, was arrested Tuesday on charges of DUI and driving an uninsured car. Police said he was arrested as the result of an investigation into a private property crash in the 1100 block of North Frontage Road. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
- Martell McDaniels, 30, of Chicago, was arrested about 3:30 a.m. Saturday on charges of DUI and stopping in the roadway. Police said McDaniels was parked at a traffic light and appeared to be asleep. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
- Darryl Hendricks, 57, of Romeoville, was arrested Sunday at 75th Street and Cass Avenue on charges of DUI and failure to reduce speed to prevent an accident. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
Retail theft
- Saferia Manuel, 30, of Chicago, was cited about 9 a.m. Sunday at Walmart, 2189 75th St., on a charge of retail theft. Police said she was seen under-scanning items at the self-checkout counter. She was released and given a date to appear in court.
- Derrick Mays, 34, of Chicago, was cited about 10 a.m. Sunday at Jewel, 7329 Cass Ave., on a charge of retail theft. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
