Darien Official Opposes Woodridge Development
The Village Board approved a large industrial building across the street from Darien.

WOODRIDGE, IL – Woodridge village officials on Thursday approved the construction of a large industrial building in the 8100 block of Lemont Road, which is across the street from Darien.
The opponents included Darien's Ward 6 alderman, Eric Gustafson, who spoke at Thursday's Woodridge Village Board meeting.
In an email to Patch, Gustafson said the city of Darien did not take a formal position on the development. He said he spoke as a resident.

Gustafson told Patch he was concerned about potential safety issues for Center Cass School District 66 students, who must cross Lemont Road to go to school. He also said he was considering the safety of residents in Darien's Woodmere subdivision, which is across the street.
The developer, Trammell Crow Co., is planning a 217,000-square-foot building, with 33 dock doors and 270 parking spaces, according to village documents.
