Darien Park District Hosts Musical Theatre Workshop For Kids

The workshop will be held from Sept. 18 to Dec. 18 and will culminate in a final performance by the kids.

DARIEN, IL — Children who love to perform, or those that would like to give it a try, can attend the Darien Park District's Musical Theatre Workshop. According to the fall program guide, children will learn musical numbers, choreography, designing costumes; and then they will have a final performance at the end of the session. The session runs from Sept. 18 to Dec. 18.

The theme for this workshop, according to the brochure, will be songs written and arranged by Lin Manuel-Miranda and Alex Lacamoire. This will include songs from "Hamilton," "Dear Evan Hansen," "Moana," and more. Children ages 7-12 can participate in the workshop.

The course is being taught by Nancy Urban, according to the park district. Nancy has a BFA in Musical Theatre as well as a BFA in Music Therapy. She has choreographed over 20+productions. Nancy has also performed in over 25 productions.
