Darien Preschool Reports Child Endangerment: Cops

In another case, a Darien man was charged with domestic battery and interfering with the reporting of domestic violence.

DARIEN, IL – In the last few days, Darien police have handled cases involving child endangerment, domestic battery, damage by a hockey puck and DUIs. Here is information from the latest Darien police reports:

Child endangerment

  • Police were called shortly before 6 p.m. April 16 to Kiddie Academy, 1502 75th St., about a report of suspected child endangerment. Police said that a child had been left unsupervised in a vehicle in the parking lot. Four days later, a 45-year-old Lombard man was arrested on a charge of endangering the health or life of a child. The man was given a court date and then released.

Domestic battery

  • A 50-year-old Darien man who lives in the 400 block of 69th Street was arrested about 9 p.m. April 15 at his house on two counts of domestic battery and one count of interfering with the reporting of domestic battery. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Damage by hockey puck

  • A resident in the 7200 block of Clarendon Hills Road reported damage to his fence Monday. Hockey pucks were believed to have caused holes in the fence, with damage estimated at $720.

DUI

  • A 43-year-old Lyons man was arrested about 3 a.m. April 16 on charges of DUI, improper turn at an intersection and improper lane usage. Police said he crossed lanes several times. He was given a court date and then released.
  • A 29-year-old Downers Grove man was arrested about 5 p.m. April 16 at 87th Street and Lemont Road on charges of DUI, driving an uninsured car, leaving the scene of an accident, driving too fast for conditions and failing to carry his driver's license. He was given a court date and then released.
  • A 27-year-old Woodridge man was arrested about 1:30 a.m. Sunday on charges of DUI, speeding and disobeying a traffic light. Police said the man was speeding in the 8500 block of Lemont Road. The man was given a court date and then released.
