Darien Retailer Sold Winning Ticket

DARIEN, IL – The Powerball jackpot has grown to $1.5 billion, but along the way, people are getting hefty prizes.

Those who matched four numbers and the Powerball in Wednesday's drawing won $50,000 each. Nine such tickets were issued around Illinois, including in Darien.

The Darien ticket with four matched numbers was sold at Brookhaven Marketplace grocery store, 7516 S. Cass Ave.

Another such ticket was sold close by at Circle K gas station, 2010 87th St., in Woodridge. Others were in Palatine, Pekin, Aurora, Oak Park, Oak Lawn, Third Lake and Savoy.

Three tickets with five matching numbers and the Powerball were sold in Bolingbrook, Metamora and Joliet. They are worth $100,000 prizes.
