Darien Sees Nearly 20% Virus Case Hike In 10 Days: County

Since the pandemic's beginning, Darien has seen eight deaths from the coronavirus.

DARIEN, IL — Darien saw an 18 percent increase in coronavirus cases in the last 10 days, according to the DuPage County Health Department.

As of Sunday, the number of cases was 528. That was up by 81 cases over the county's number a week before. According to the health department, it did not receive statistics from the state Department of Public Health for the three days before the latest week, which may explain the higher than usual percentage increase in local cases.

The total of local deaths from the coronavirus was eight as of Sunday, the same as it has been for weeks, according to the health department.
