Darien Store Broken Into, With Nearly $10K In Damage: Cops

In other cases, two Darien men were charged with domestic battery and reporting of domestic violence, police said.

DARIEN, IL – Darien police released their weekly blotter Thursday. Here is information from the reports:

Break-in

  • Officers were called to the Flame Smoke and Vape shop, 7516 Cass Ave., about 3 a.m. Monday for an alarm. The front glass door appeared to have been damaged. Broken glass was on the floor. Several large glass shelves were knocked over and broken, with merchandise scattered across the floor. The loss was estimated at $9,500.

  • A 42-year-old Darien man who lives in the 7300 block of Western Avenue was arrested about 11 a.m. Tuesday on two counts of domestic battery and one count of interfering with the reporting of domestic violence. Police said the victim had visible injuries. The man was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
  • A 26-year-old man who lives at Darien's WoodSpring Suites, 951 N. Frontage Road, was arrested about 11 p.m. Friday on two counts of domestic battery and one count of interfering with the reporting of domestic violence. An officer spoke with the victim, while other officers went to WoodSpring Suites to speak with the suspect, police said. The man was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
