Darien Store Burglarized; $4K In Liquor, Currency Stolen: Cops

In another case, police arrested a man who was driving slowly and then nearly hit a curb, according to a report.

DARIEN, IL – Darien police released their latest blotter Thursday. Here is information from the reports:

Store burglary

  • The Darien Pantry liquor store, 737 Plainfield Road, was burglarized about 2:30 a.m. Monday. The front window was smashed. Suspects stole bottles of liquor, money and a cash register drawer. The loss was more than $4,000.

  • A 37-year-old Aurora man was arrested about 1 a.m. Friday at 75th Street and Cass Avenue on charges of DUI, improper lane usage and unlawful possession of marijuana by a driver. Police said an officer saw the man traveling at a low rate of speed for several blocks and then drifting into the other lane, almost hitting a curb. The man was given a court date and then released.
  • A 32-year-old Darien man who lives in the 7700 block of Green Valley Court was arrested about 2:30 a.m. Sunday in the 8200 block of Lemont Road on charges of DUI, unlawful possession of marijuana by a driver and speeding. The man was given a court date and then released.
