Darien Student Improves School Fitness Center

DARIEN, IL – A graduate of Lakeview Junior High School in Darien is renovating the school's fitness and weight room facility.

Millan Ananth's work is his project to become an Eagle Scout.

The project includes painting, flooring and purchasing new equipment through a GoFundMe page.

Ananth met his $10,000 fundraising goal. No more money is needed.

In an email to Patch, Ananth's father, Mahesh Ananth, said his son was in the "home stretch" and expected to complete the project in August.

"It is a major endeavor in which he gave a formal presentation to the school board as a 14-year-old," his father said.

In a news release in May, Center Cass School District 66 said Ananth's project would be beneficial to current and future students.
