Darien TGI Friday's Shooting: Willowbrook Man Arrested And Charged

A Willowbrook man has been arrested and charged in connection with Friday's shooting.

DARIEN, IL - A Willowbrook man has been arrested and charged with aggravated battery with a firearm in connection with Friday's TGI Friday's shooting, in the parking lot of the restaurant at 2201 75th St. De Mario Gordon, 23, was arrested and charged Saturday, July 22, according to police.

Police officials said with the assistance of the FIAT-Major Crimes Unit and the DuPage Metropolitan Enforcement Group, Gordon was developed as a suspect and taken into custody without incident. He was processed and transported to DuPage County Jail, according to a release.

Police said based on investigation and the circumstances behind the encounter between Gordon and the victim, this was not a random act of violence. The male victim continues to make progress and is recovering at a local hospital after being shot in the abdomen, police said.
