Darien Water Bills To Be Estimated
Any incorrect readings will be corrected on July bills, city says.
DARIEN, IL — Meter readers will estimate residents' water usage because of the governor's stay-at-home order, which is meant to protect people from the coronavirus, Darien announced over the weekend. Darien customers will see estimated usages on their May bills. Any incorrect readings found once meter readers return will be corrected on residents' July bills, the city said.
Additionally, public works is not charging penalties or late fees or shutting off water to homes or businesses. "The City and County are committed to working with customers during this time," the city said.
Call the county's public works department at 630-985-2905 or email publicworks@dupageco.org for payment arrangements if you are experiencing hardship.
