Darien Water Main Construction Causes Road Closures

DARIEN, IL — Water main construction has closed several intersections in Darien, along Plainfield Road from 75th Street to Tennessee Avenue. According to the village, drivers can use alternate routes like 71st Street west to Cass Avenue or 71st Street east to Clarendon Hills Road to avoid delays.

Leonard Avenue and Plainfield Road intersection is currently closed and construction should end May 28, the village said. Construction has just started at the intersection of Western Avenue and Plainfield Road, and that will remained closed until June 3.

Lastly, the intersection of Tennessee Avenue and Plainfield Road will be closed starting May 28 and construction will end June 10, the village said.

According to the village, Acqua Contractors is estimating the entire project completed by Aug. 1.
