Darien, Willowbrook Men Charged With Battery At Store

In another case, a Darien man was arrested after officers were called to a disturbance at his home, according to a report.

DARIEN, IL – In the last few days, Darien police handled cases involving battery, a disturbance, a theft at a fitness center, vandalism and DUI. Here is information from the latest Darien Police reports:

Battery

  • Police were called about 10 a.m. Monday to Jewel, 7329 Cass Ave. They charged two men with battery. They are a 27-year-old Willowbrook man who lives on Honeysuckle Rose Lane and a 60-year-old Darien man who lives in the 8100 block of Chapman Court. The Willowbrook man faces two counts, while the Darien man received one count. They were released.

Disturbance

  • Police were called for a disturbance about 9:30 a.m. Friday at a house in the 7600 block of Brookhaven Avenue. Officers found that a 64-year-old Darien man who lives at the house had two DuPage County warrants for failing to appear in court.

Fitness center theft

  • Someone stole an electric bicycle from the front entrance of Planet Fitness, 7415 Cass Ave. It was valued at $447. Police were called about the theft shortly before 9 a.m. Saturday.

Vandalism

  • A resident in the 800 block of Belair Drive called police about 9:30 p.m. Saturday about damage. He told police he heard a loud bang on his double-pane window, which was chipped. A rock below the window appeared out of place in the home's landscaping. Damage was estimated at $2,300.
  • Someone drew on the exterior of a garage door and a service door to the garage in the 7200 block of Sunrise Avenue. Police were called about noon Saturday.

DUI

  • A 43-year-old Joliet man was arrested shortly before 1 a.m. Saturday on Cass Avenue on charges of DUI, improper display of a license plate and driving a car with registration suspended for no insurance. Police said an officer checked the man's license plate, which was suspended. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
