Darien Woman Accused In Hit-And-Run

A Darien resident hears a loud noise and finds a mailbox is damaged.

DARIEN, IL — A Darien woman was arrested after a hit-and-run incident that resulted in a mailbox that was broken in half, according to a Darien police report. At 1:30 p.m. May 11, a resident in the 6900 block of Eleanor Place heard a loud noise and saw the neighbor's mailbox damaged.

Police officers located parts of the suspect's car and then found the suspect. The suspect was identified as Jessica Riha, 42. She was charged with driving while using her phone and failing to give information to the owner after striking property, police said. She was released and given a date to appear in court.
