Darien Woman Charged With Battery At Store

DARIEN, IL – In recent days, Darien police handled cases involving assault and battery, retail theft, burglary and trespassing. Here is information from the latest reports:

Assault and battery

• A Darien woman who lives in the 500 block of Cass Avenue was arrested about 9 p.m. Aug. 4 at Walmart, 2189 75th St., on charges of assault and battery. She was released and given a date to appear in court. Patch has filed a public records request for the police report.

Burglary

• A truck near Sleepy Hollow Lane and Cass Avenue was burglarized about 1:30 p.m. Aug. 5. The victim said it happened while he was doing work for his company. Utility locator equipment was stolen from the back of the truck.

Retail theft

• Officers were called about 8 p.m. Aug. 3 to Walmart, 2189 75th St., for a retail theft. A loss prevention employee stopped two females after seeing them fail to pay for a large garbage can. Asked to come to the loss prevention office, the suspects refused and left in their car. The loss was $118.

Trespassing

• A 37-year-old Delran, New Jersey, man was arrested about 7:30 p.m. Aug. 5 on a charge of criminal trespass to a vehicle. Police received information that a stolen car was in Darien. The man was released and given a date to appear in court.
