Darien Woman Strikes Officers: Cops

DARIEN, IL – Darien police released their latest blotter Thursday. Here is information from the reports:

Aggravated battery

• A 60-year-old woman who lives in the 1700 block of Gigi Lane in Darien was arrested about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at her house on a charge of aggravated battery. Two officers were struck as they were trying to assist with an ambulance call. The woman was released and given a date to appear in court.

Retail theft

• A 56-year-old Crestwood woman was arrested about 8 p.m. Friday at Walmart, 2189 75th St., on a charge of retail theft. At the self-checkout counter, the woman rang up items that were all under $1 because of price tags that had been changed, police said. She was released and given a date to appear in court.
• A 24-year-old Woodridge man was arrested about 3 p.m. Wednesday at Walmart, 2189 75th St., on a charge of retail theft. He was seen under-scanning items at the self-checkout counter, police said. He was released and given a date to appear in court.

DUI

• A 30-year-old Alsip man was arrested about 1 a.m. Saturday at 75th Street and Lemont Road on charges of DUI, speeding, having an expired registration and driving an uninsured car. Police said he was speeding 61 mph in a 45 mph zone. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
• A 64-year-old Woodridge woman was arrested about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at 87th Street and Lemont Road on charges of DUI, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, improper lane usage and driving an uninsured car. She was released and given a date to appear in court.

Warrant

• A 25-year-old Romeoville man was arrested about 11:30 a.m. Sunday on Manning Road at Queens Court on a Will County warrant for failure to appear in court on a charge of possession of a controlled substance. He was stopped for driving with an expired registration. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Damage

• A mailbox was damaged between 8 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. Friday in the 6900 block of Brookbank Road. The mailbox's lid was hanging, and the post was loose. The damage was estimated at $50.
