Darien Man Trespasses At Library: Police

In another case, a Darien man was arrested on domestic battery charges in a local neighborhood, authorities said.

DARIEN, IL – Darien police released their weekly blotter Thursday. Here is information from the reports:

Trespassing

  • A 52-year-old Darien man who lives in the 8300 block of Ripple Ridge Drive was cited about 8:30 p.m. Monday on a charge of trespassing. An employee at Indian Prairie Public Library, 401 Plainfield Road, told police that the man was in the library, even though he had been told he was not allowed there. He was released.

Domestic battery

  • A 24-year-old Darien man who lives in the 8900 block of Brandon Road was arrested about 4 p.m. Friday at his house on two counts of domestic battery. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Vehicle burglary

  • A vehicle was burglarized early last Thursday morning at WoodSpring Suites, 951 N. Frontage Road. The driver's side rear window was broken. The same morning, work trucks were broken into at Burr Ridge hotels.

DUI

  • A 31-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 12:30 a.m. Sunday on charges of DUI, failure to signal when required and driving with only one headlight. Police said the man was seen speeding and nearly striking a curb as he turned from 75th Street to Cass Avenue. The driver then turned without signaling and continued into the parking lot at Chiba Japanese Restaurant, 7533 Cass Ave. He was given a court date and then released.
