Does Darien Need Barrier From I-55 Shootings?
An alderwoman advocates a soundwall along the expressway.

DARIEN, IL – A Darien alderwoman last week pointed to a recent shooting on the expressway through Darien, which she said demonstrated a need for a soundwall to protect local neighborhoods.
At a City Council meeting, Ward 5 Alderwoman Mary Sullivan spoke about the shooting on Interstate 55. She said much of her ward borders Frontage Road, which is along the interstate.
One family, she said, expressed their concern to her after the shooting.

"It's very critical to Darien and obviously my area if that could come to fruition," Sullivan said.
