Driver Knocks Down Cement Pole, Causes $4,500 Damage In Darien

DARIEN, IL — Police in Darien are looking for a suspect who hit a cement pole, causing it to fall and lead to thousands of dollars in damage. The incident took place Friday just before 1 p.m. in the 1100 block of Chalet, police say.

Officers were dispatched to the area after a report of a downed pole. Police say the pole appeared to have been hit by a vehicle. In total, the estimated damage was $4,500.

At press time, there was no information available about the offender or any potential suspects.
